Unframed

Originally a black and white painting color was added to soften some of the sharp tension of the black and white edges. At the same time a new element of value variation was created. Flat areas of color play off areas of scribbly brushwork. There is also a mix of washy and opaque areas, and even subtle linear elements. Tension created by the value contrast is representative of our social condition.
