Unframed. Cap is short for Captain America. The flag material supports the subject with the blue band becoming a superhero mask. The collaging of material from flags creates a heavy and uneven surface which affects mark-making. Mark-making with paint and paint sticks complements the geometry of the stars and stripes. This painting was tough to resolve so I took an extended break from it. Eventually I started to white wash some of the noise and pulled off some of the circular paint liners. Then I worked back in with the paint sticks.
